Seattle-based writer Ijeoma Oluo made big waves a few months ago when she wrote about her interview with Rachel Dolezal. The piece was so widely read that it “damn near broke the Stranger website.” Oluo’s work focuses primarily on issues of race, feminism, and the arts. In 2015, she was named one of Seattle’s most influential people by Seattle Magazine.

Her younger brother Ahamefule J. Oluo, also based in Seattle, is a musician, composer, writer, and comedian. He was Town Hall’s very first Artist in Residence. His jazz quartet, Industrial Revelation, was awarded a Stranger Genius Award. In 2015, Ahamefule was featured on This American Life sharing this story. (Oh, and he’s married to Lindy West)

Join the multi-talented Oluo siblings in a conversation about the paths they’ve taken to become who they are.

Recorded live at Town Hall Seattle Thursday June 29, 2017
